A quick little post on one of mom's hand embroidered door hangers:
I've added this to our Boutique and our Etsy shop.
My wedding piece is coming along nicely. Today, I'll be gluing the trim on. Then I just have to sew up the little heart and it'll be ready.

Spring Hanging Pillows
I finished up my last 3 projects the other day and have photos to share! Yeah! One of my favorite things to make is door pillows aka hanging pillows. I've made 100's of these over the years. Some for myself, some for gifts and some to sell. I have my little door pillows hanging on every door knob in the house and I change them for the holidays and seasons. I love them! They add color and a nice homey feel without taking up any space! So here are my latest:
Also in our Boutique are another pair of earrings that Kathi made:
Her St Patrick's Day Earrings have sold out but a little birdie told me that there might be some Easter earrings coming! These items and more can also be found at Etsy.
I'll be finishing up the stitching on my little pink purse today and then I have another custom order to do. A pre-sewn block that I was asked to stitch and embellish so be sure to stop by tomorrow for updates!

Door Pillows for St Patricks Day
Mom's latest creations! Door Pillows for St Patricks Day. Mom made these from vintage handkerchiefs:
This one was made from a vintage image that I printed on fabric:
Check out that vintage tatted doily behind the image! I picked up a few of those at the last Flea Market I was at. I gave them all to mom thinking they would be perfect for her door pillows.
These are in our boutique now!

Crazy Quilt Pillows
Last week, I was able to do some finishing and finally completed these Crazy Quilt Pillows that I stitched before Christmas:
These are so sweet, aren't they? I think I'll do a few for St. Patrick's Day!
Today, I'll be working on organizing my craft storage room. I really want to run my sewing machine but if I don't neaten up my fabrics and laces a little bit, it'll be like parting the Red Sea to get in there!
These are available in our Boutique!

Winter Lady Crazy Quilt Purse Continued
Other than going into town for groceries and doing some laundry, I spent most of yesterday stitching on my Winter Lady Crazy Quilt Purse:
I'll be sitting here and doing some more beadwork on this before I head over to mom's for the day.
Also, I've decided to add a new feature to my blog. As I stitch on my Crazy Quilt projects, I'll take close up photos of some of my seam treatments and post them on the page titled, "Crazy Quilt Seam Treatment Inspirations". You can find it at the top of my blog.
Since I use my Waste Canvas technique for the majority of my embroidery on crazy quilts, I thought this would be a nice way to give my readers some ideas for seam embroidery and how to embellish them. I'll start doing this when I complete this purse.
Finally for today, we're having a nice Christmas Sale at our Boutique:
Christmas Village Houses and Bottlebrush Trees are on sale. We won't be doing anymore of these of so please, get them while you can! The sale is only available at our Boutique.

Pink Ribbon Crazy Quilt Purse Almost Complete!
I did the silk ribbon embroidery on this Pink Ribbon Purse last night during Dancing With The Stars and then this morning, I did some more beadwork on it:
A little more beading and embellishing and this will be ready to assemble into a purse. I will make this available in my boutique and a portion of the sale will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
I have quite a few new items to list in our shops and then I'll get back to working on this and I'm hoping to complete it tonight during Dancing.
I'm really excited about this project. Way too many people cope with this horrible disease. I have lost 2 friends just this year to it and although my donation won't make a huge difference in the race for the cure, every little bit does help.

Crazy Quilt Halloween Door Pillow
I've stitched the seams on my little crazy quilt Halloween door pillow and now it's ready for beads. Lots of beads!
I plan to finish up on the computer now and have a little stitching time before I go into town for groceries.
I've been keeping myself quite busy lately! I'm getting ready to teach 3 upcoming Crazy Quilt classes, I'm working on things for the boutique and getting ready for our trip to Galena Illinois over Labor Day weekend. I can't tell ya'll how much I'm looking forward to that! Scott and I haven't been able to go to Galena since last Labor Day!
Speaking of the Boutique, I've added a few more new items. Pretty little Victorian angel ornaments!
These are also available at Etsy!

Late Summer
Is it me, or is it really starting to feel like late Summer? We planted pumpkins in the Spring and we've already picked our first pumpkin! Had to do it before the critters ate it! LOL!!! I'll have to take some photos of my pumpkin patch. Geez, it took over my yard!
I'm feeling the need to stitch on some Fall things so I started on this little Halloween design last night:
This will be a little Halloween Door Pillow and I'll add to the Boutique when I have it ready.
Speaking of the Boutique, it's Tuesday which means Tuesday's Treasures at Shabby Lane Shops!
We have mom's Scarecrow Tussy Mussy's on special for today:
Be sure to see all of the Shabby Lane Shops who participate in Tuesday's Treasures specials!

Hand Embroidered Pillows
When I was in WalMart today, I picked up a 3rd package of alphabet beads. Can you believe, there is only 1 "T" in the package? But there are 4 "X's" if not more! What is up with that! Does anyone need alphabet beads with the letter "X"? I have way more than I need! LOL!
Anyway, now I can at least finish my Marie Antoinette quilt because I finally have 3 "T's" to spell out her name!
For now, I thought I'd share a few new things that mom made. First is her Tinted Embroidered Butterfly Pillow:
I think Mom used a vintage embroidery pattern from my collection. Next is mom's Crocheted Bonnet Lady Pillow:
Mom used a vintage dresser scarf to create this pretty cottage accent pillow. Notice the flower beads on the green ribbon bows!
I also added a few of my Unique Handcrafted Greeting Cards to our Boutique:
I love the soft pastel colors of vintage greeting cards and use them often to make new ones! Of course I add lots of glitter!
Well, those are my pretties for today! I'll get Block #9 of my Marie Antoinette quilt finished up and have a photo for you soon!

Victorian Uncle Sam Tussy Mussys
I had to share these beautiful Victorian Tussy Mussys that mom made:
Are these unique or what? I've never seen a tussy mussy for the 4th of July and these are just so patriotic! Mom couldn't decide what color to go with so she made Red Uncle Sam Tussy Mussys and Blue Uncle Sam Tussy Mussys.
I just added these to our Boutique! Now it's time for me to make dinner! More tomorrow.....

Crazy Quilt Strawberry Ornaments!
You really came up with some great guesses! But I think only person guessed correctly! My "mystery" CQ pieces are indeed Strawberry Ornaments!
Aren't they sweet? No pun intended! LOL!!! There's more photos in our Boutique. They measure 4 inches high X 3 inches wide and I added a ribbon to the top for hanging.
I've finishing up a cat doll and then I plan to stitch up a few more Cellphone pouches. After that, I will finish up on my Marie Antoinette quilt!

Had A Lovely Time Teaching In Delafield Wisconsin!
Good Morning Everyone! I had an absolutely wonderful time yesterday with my Crazy Quilt class up in Delafield, Wisconsin! Everyone was wonderful and I must say, I so much enjoyed sharing my Waste Canvas techniques and CQ tips! I truly hope that my students enjoyed the class as much as I did!
I confess, I wasn't sure I would enjoy teaching. Among other disorders, I have Social Anxiety Disorder and I can see now where it's gotten in my way all my life. I've always avoided situations of being in the "limelight" so to speak. Everyone was so nice and wonderful and it was such a great experience for teaching the first time that I'm sure I would enjoy doing it again!
If anyone has a group of Crazy Quilters or stitchers who would like to learn my techniques, please email me! I live in the Northern Illinois - Southern Wisconsin area. I don't travel much but I would certainly be willing (twist my arm) to teach up in Galena Illinois as well. Just let me know and we'll put a class together.
I'd like to take a moment to say thank you to my sweet cousin Kim who not only drove (I don't drive too far myself) but also helped me so much to stay on track. Thank you Sweetie!!!
If you were one of my students yesterday, here is the recipe for the cookies I brought!
In other news, I added a few new things to our Boutique! Mom did 2 of her Traditional Crazy Quilt Door Pillows:
I also added a few more Greeting Cards to the shop:
Well, that's my news for today everyone! I need to relax and do some stitching today but I may try to add a few cards to the shop later. We're taking mom to a couple of Flea Markets tomorrow. If I find some great junk, I'll share photos!!!
