Patriotic Blog Background

I finally have my computer set up so I designed a nice Patriotic blog background to celebrate the 4th of July:

If you would like to use this on your Blogger/Blogspot Blog, here is the code:

<style type="text/css">
body { background-image : url(https://c2.staticflickr.com/2/1790/29197999768_4e420a35b1_o.jpg); background-position: center; background-repeat: no-repeat;  background-attachment : fixed; }
</style>

<script type="text/javascript">
var div = document.createElement('div');
div.setAttribute('style',"position: absolute; left: 0px; top: 30px; z-index: 50; width: 150px; height: 45px;");
div.innerHTML = '<a target="_blank" href=" "></a>';
document.getElementsByTagName('body').item(0).appendChild(div);
</script>

Copy and paste into your HTML thingy!  This will work for 2 column Blogger Blogs.

Happy 4th Of July!

Happy 4th of July everyone!  It looks like our temps are going to be a little more tolerable today.  It was a hot weekend but that didn't stop us from heading out to a small flea market yesterday.  The walking feels good and the thrill of the hunt is pure stimulation for my crazy ADD brain!  LOL!!!

I didn't find a lot of treasure yesterday but that's ok.  What I did find are 2 little vintage cookbooks to add to my collection:

The Watkins booklet is copyrighted 1934 and the Carnation booklet is copyrighted 1946.  There are some nice recipes in these little cookbooks and I'm thrilled to have these in my collection.  I only paid $4.00 for the 2 of them!

Be sure to download the PDF file for my 1925 Bakers Chocolate Cookbook!

I also picked up a couple of cards of vintage buttons:

The white buttons are glass with touches of gold on them.  The little pink cameo buttons and the purple rhinestone buttons are plastic.  These were kind of unique so I thought they would be fun for my crazyquilting.

Have a safe and Happy 4th of July everyone!

Victorian Uncle Sam Tussy Mussys

I had to share these beautiful Victorian Tussy Mussys that mom made:

Are these unique or what?  I've never seen a tussy mussy for the 4th of July and these are just so patriotic!  Mom couldn't decide what color to go with so she made Red Uncle Sam Tussy Mussys and Blue Uncle Sam Tussy Mussys.

I just added these to our Boutique!  Now it's time for me to make dinner!  More tomorrow.....

Happy Pink 4th Of July Saturday!

Hello everyone!  Happy Pink Saturday and Happy 4th of July!!!  I'm thrilled to be participating Beverly's Pink Saturday again!  What a fun way to bring the pink blogging community together!

I had a really fun idea as to what "pink" to share this week but I decided I would save it for next week due to the holiday weekend.  I know everyone is out and about and celebrating so for this week, I thought I would share my one and only 4th Of July do-dad:

As you can see, it's not red, white & blue, it's pink and blue!  My mom made this for me a few weeks ago.  She knows I can't stand much in the way of bright colors so she made me a patriotic table mat in soft pastel colors! Very patriotic but soothing on my nerves!

So that's my contribution to Pink Saturday this week.  I'd like to wish everyone a Happy & safe 4th Of July!

And a special thank you to our host Beverly at How Sweet The Sound Blog.  Please hop over to Beverly's blog and visit some of the other lovely pink contributers!
