New Releases Birds And Valentines

Valentine's Day is just around the corner.  I've worked up a new set of ornaments in the "Crazy" series.  These are worked with traditional Blackwork patterns coupled with bands of pretty pink hearts and flowers.  Kreinik #4 braid gives them sparkle.  Worked on 14 count white Perforated Paper from Wichelt, these designs can also be used as bookmarks or magnets.

With Spring coming, I'm looking forward to all the colorful birds that arrive with it!  My Seasonal Bird Borders are perfect for towels or tablerunners.

I also have 2 scripture designs featuring pretty birds.  First, Song Of Songs 2:12 features a Robin on a nest of blue eggs with yellow daffodils and pink tulips.

And then Rejoice In The Lord Always, Philippians 4:4 is accompanied by a Rose Breasted Grosbeak and pastel pink Cherry Blossoms.

My new releases are perfect for stitchers who enjoy classic and traditional cross stitch patterns.

Another Valentine Cat Doll

My last cat doll for this Valentine's Day:

I just finished this up this morning.  I have to run for groceries and then I'll pull backing fabrics for my cat dolls and get them ready to sew up.  I don't think I can get them stuffed until I get to JoAnn's tomorrow for polyester fiberfill.

Cat Dolls for Valentines Day

Oh, what a cloudy, dreary, grey day!  We haven't had sun here in McHenry, Illinois for I don't know how long.  They're calling for snow later today.  Ya'll know how I feel about that!  But it is what it is and there's nothing I can do about it.

I've filled my bird feeders, fed my squirrels and ran to WalMart for Nightmare's prescription.  I have laundry going and when I finish up here on the computer, I plan to stitch the rest of the day.

I snapped a few pictures of my precious Nightmare this morning.  He loves to sleep under the Christmas tree:

Is he a beauty or what?  He seems to have pretty much recovered from the stroke he had 4 months ago but he's still a bit off.  Not too bad though.  Scott and I are taking him to the vet on Saturday for another blood test to see where things are with the kidney disease.  He eats well, in fact he's quite happy with the special kidney diet he's on.  I've had to get a little creative with snacks though.  He's kind of pathetic when he wants a kitty cookie which I can't give him due the fact that kitty cookies are all protein and it's the protein that's so hard on the kidney's.  He sits on the counter in the kitchen and stares at the cupboard door where I keep them.  Poor little thing!  Instead, don't laugh, but I make him pasta.  He loves pasta!  Just macaroni chopped up little and tossed with a bit of vegetable oil.  And he also loves the crust on white bread.  What we do for the ones we love huh?

I've been stitching up some Valentines for my Etsy shop.  My current projects are some of my little cat dolls:

I have 3 more sewn up and ready to stitch.  After that, maybe I'll make another purse.  Something pink perhaps?

Crazy Quilt Pillows

Last week, I was able to do some finishing and finally completed these Crazy Quilt Pillows that I stitched before Christmas:

These are so sweet, aren't they?  I think I'll do a few for St. Patrick's Day!

Today, I'll be working on organizing my craft storage room.  I really want to run my sewing machine but if I don't neaten up my fabrics and laces a little bit, it'll be like parting the Red Sea to get in there!

These are available in our Boutique!

Tussy Mussys

I've had so many requests for more of mom's Victorian style Tussy Mussys!  No one does these beautiful paper cones like mom does!  Here are her latest tussys for Valentines Day:

These are now available in our Boutique!

Another Valentine Cat Doll

I spent yesterday shopping in Crystal Lake with my cousin Kim. I had a very nice time with her as I always do.  Before she picked me up, I had a little stitching time and finished up my red and white Valentine Cat Doll:

Very traditional, isn't it?  And here's a photo of the next cat in Hot Pink:

It easy to see the outline of the cat on this one.  As you can see, I run a basting stitch on the sewing line.  This way, I can see how far I can go with beads and other embellishments.  When I complete the stitching, I just pull out that basting stitch.

Today is my annual New Years Eve shopping spree at JoAnn Fabrics.  I really don't need a thing.  I picked up some of my favorite Watercolour threads by The Caron Collection yesterday along with another yard of waste canvas.  I received some nice CQ supplies for my birthday and Christmas too so today, I'll try to be selective about my purchases.  Wish me luck!
