Hand Dyed Silk Ribbon
I spent about 3 hours this morning hand dying 50 yards of 7MM Silk Ribbon:
I was out of pinks all together and running quite low on greens and blues so that's what I focused on for this batch. In a couple of weeks, I'll order another 50 yards and do some more muted colors.
I use Rit dye to do my silk ribbon. It's inexpensive, easy to find in stores and works nicely. Here is a tutorial for dying Silk Ribbon with Rit Dye.
In other news, I finished up the stitching on my Crazy Quilt Bird Pillow:
It just screams Spring doesn't it? I want to get this sewn together sometime this week.
And finally, this is my next project:
This will be a wall hanging. If you look closely, you should be able to see the point at the bottom. Just follow the basting stitches.
The rose is not ironed down yet. It's a Broiderie Perse applique but I haven't decided on where it will go yet. This piece will have a focal point theme so where the rose goes will depend on how the focal point comes out.
Does anyone want to guess the theme? Leave me your guesses in the comments!

Bird Pillow Update
I have a quick little update today on my current project. This will be a pillow when I complete it:
The next step on this will be to add the Shibori ribbon and embellish that. I will take photos as I go along and put together a nice and easy tutorial for you.
In the meantime, one of our very own dear Crazy Quilters is in need of some financial assistance. Cathy Kizerian was kind enough to set up a GoFundMe fundraiser to help Viv with the funeral costs for her dear husband Eddie. If you're interested in helping Viv, please click here.

Cottage Beach Seascape Bowl Fillers
I have some finishes to share today. First, my Crazy Quilt Bird Pillow is done and it's so pretty!
I love the soft, wide cream colored lace that I used on it.
And my Seascape Bowl Fillers are done:
Everything is included except the bowl! The Crazy Quilt Pillow, the seashells, the faux pearls and the hand dyed cheesecloth for lining the bowl!
Maria had asked me how I made the anemones. I confess, I did not make those. I'm fortunate to have a home decor store give me their outdated fabric and trim books.
So my anemones are nothing more than little tassels!

Decorative Pillows
The majority rules Ladies! I had about 20 ladies here and on Facebook who voted for a pillow and 3 votes for a purse. So went with the majority and finished this into a pillow:
There's more pictures of my Crazy Quilt Bird Pillow here.
And speaking of decorative pillows, this is mom's latest creation:
I believe mom used a vintage embroidery pattern to create this pretty Floral Pillow.
So what's my next project? I can't share it yet, but it'll be on the cover of a magazine! I started stitching on it this morning but ya'll know me. I'm a fast stitcher so I'll have some other photos for you soon!

Crazy Quilt Bird Pillow
I'm still impatiently waiting for Spring! LOL!!! I wanted Robins and I got snow! So I'm stitching on this bird pillow thinking about Spring and when the Robins will show up in my backyard:
I have a little more work here to do on my computer and then I plan to stitch the rest of the day and watch a movie. Maybe something that takes place in Spring! Ha, ha, ha!

Crazy Quilt Bird Pillow
Okay, isn't is Spring yet? It's snowing like crazy outside!!! I'm waiting for Robins and instead I get snow! What's up with that? LOL!!!
Well, here's a touch of Spring. A quick update on my Crazy Quilt Bird Pillow:
If I remember correctly, this block is 10 inches square. I still have a lot of embellishing to add to it but I thought you'd all enjoy an update. Don't you just love those colors? And it does look like Spring!

Crazy Quilt Bird Pillow
I'll do the finishing on my last purse project tomorrow but for today, I started another crazy quilt project:
I hand painted the lace pieces yesterday morning and started stitching on this earlier today. Blues and purples are so pretty together, don't you think? This is very Springy and I'm am ready for Spring now!
