I finally was able to start stitching on one of Gina's Peacock designs. I love the primative look of this little one so decided to do him first!
Call me crazy (it's ok, really!) I'm stitching the entire design with Rayon floss! I'm sure many of you know how challenging rayon threads are to work with but isn't the shine amazing?
If I have the right colors, I want to use some crystals in the centers of the tail feathers. And because I "must embellish" I'll probably find a place for a few seed beads. If they look good!
I want to make this into a handbag for myself.
Pedal to the floor!

He's going to be beautiful! And if it's a little tricky working the thread, he'll be worth it.
Is this an easily available peacock design? He is a lovely one.
If you go to my Flickr site and click on the "Embroidery Motif" set to the right, you can the pattern there and download it. Just click on any of the photos and that'll take you to my Flickr site.
It's lovely. I like the look of rayon floss too. ;-)
What else can one say - WOW!! Sensational, Pam!! I love Rayon floss myself, but I am careful where I use it, as I've made bad judgement in the past, and had to rip it out. Having said that, I think this is the perfect vehicle for Rayon - peacocks' feathers do have a beautiful sheen on them.
