Free Cross Stitch Pattern - Dove Of Hope

Little by little, I've been reworking my Cross Stitch freebies into nice printable pages.

I did The Dove Of Hope years ago, when my dear friend Lula Chang developed breast cancer.  Lula beat the disease but died 3 years ago due to other issues.

I've been thinking about her lately, missing her really, and decided that now would be a good time to re-release this design:

This was designed to support Breast Cancer Awareness.  It could certainly be stitched as a Christmas ornament, or a Spring or Valentine's Day project.

Have a good weekend and Happy Stitching!

Artist's Trading Cards Crazy Quilt Style - Swap Your Mini's!!!

We all like to send and receive fun things in the mail and we all like to create things that are quick and easy….right?  So the staff of Crazy Quilt Quarterly are excited to announce
‘Swap Your Mini’s – ATC’s CQ Style’!  We’d love for you all to play along (and you can play as often as you’d like!).

All you have to do  is create one (or as many as you’d like) crazy quilted artist trading card(s) and send via snail mail to Pam Kellogg.  You will receive one back for each one you send.  Simple?

Guidelines are as follows:

* Create a crazy quilted artist trading card (2 ½” x 3 ½”).
It must be crazy quilted and it must be the stated size.
We ask that there be no politically themed entries (patriotic is fine).

* Any embellishments should be flat to keep mailing costs down
(eg. seed beads, flat buttons, ribbon, embroidery, charms, etc.)

* Each ATC you create must be mailed to Pam and MUST include a SASE
(self addressed stamped envelope).
Be sure to include a separate SASE for EACH ATC you send!

* Please use the backing card (pattern provided) on each of your ATC’s
and also include your email address on each one so the recipient can contact you.

* NOTE: you will need to privately email Pam at pkellogg@mc.net or Mary Anne at
marmic1954@hotmail.com to indicate your desire to play
and to receive her snail mail address.

* Alas, we can only open this to residents of the United States.
Deadline for receipt is January 31, 2018.

* As a further incentive Pam will photograph each ATC and they will be published in a special edition of the magazine….the date of which will be announced as soon as it becomes available.

* Six of the ATC’s that we receive will be chosen for the cover.
Those six artists will receive a prize - an extra ATC created by one of our staff members!!

Have fun and let’s swap our mini’s – ATC’s CQ Style!!

Be sure to print the above images.  The should fit on a standard sheet of 8 1/2 inch X 11 inch paper.  Use cardstock for the ATC back and the little ATC envelope!

You can also download the PDF file here.

We are hoping to receive and trade at least 300 Crazy Quilt ATC's!!!

Calendar Cover Block

I was thinking, ya'll might like to see the entire block that I used on the cover of the 2018 Crazy Quilt Calendar:

Purple Crazy Quilt Block
The hanky in the center is a gift from a friend.  The bird brooch on the right is also a gift from her.  It's vintage too!

Here it is sewn into a pillow:

Purple Crazy Quilt Pillow
This is a 9 inch block.  I crocheted the trim with some fancy fun yarn and then hand-attached it along the edge of the pillow.  I really like the crocheted edgings with the cool fuzzy yarn!

And here it is on the calendar cover:

2018 Crazy Quilt Calendar
This is available at both Magcloud http://www.magcloud.com/user/kitty-and-me
and at Etsy:  http://www.kittyandme.etsy.com/

Be sure to stop by next week!!  The staff of Crazy Quilt Quarterly magazine has an announcement coming!!!  This is going to be so much fun!!  Don't miss it!

Have a safe and fun 3 day weekend everyone!  I'll be back on Tuesday!

Never Ending Sampler Stitch-Along Panel 2 Band 17 (End Of Panel 2)

Hi everyone!  I hope you all have been enjoying the Never Ending Sampler Stitch-Along!

I have the final band for Panel 2 today!!!

Here is the entire sampler:

Here is Band #17 by itself:

Work this band with straight stitches and French Knots, Colonial Knots or Beads.

This is Band #17 with the Band #16 overlap for placement purposes:

I'm going to give ya'll a few weeks to get caught up before starting on the 3rd Panel.  I know everyone has been busy with Summer things and Back To School stuff.  Now that Fall is starting, I know there will be more time for stitching!
