Kitty And Me Designs Update - Never Ending Sampler and more!

Good morning everyone! I wanted to let you in a few things.

First, if you prefer printed pattern leaflets, I now offer free shipping on all orders over $35.00.

If you like PDF files, I'm running a 15% off discount until Feb. 28th. Coupon Code: VALENTINE14 .

My standard Coupon Code is: STITCH1 . That code will never expire and it's good for $1.00 off on all orders.

Also, get your needles ready. I'll have Panel 7 of the Never Ending Sampler ready in the next few days. It's all done, I just have to break it down into sections and work up the PDF files. So it's coming soon.

If you plan to stitch the NES, here's a little info:

It's a SPRING themed design. You can work it on any fabric color with any thread you like but I recommend using either a light colored fabric with a darker thread or a dark fabric with a light thread.
A hand dyed Orchid fabric with white or cream colored thread would look awesome! Of course you can do whatever you like, that's just my suggestion.

You'll get to do some specialty stitches too. You can add some beautiful Kreinik metallics or some Mill Hill beads if you like but that's your choice.

You're fabric piece (28 ct. evenweave over 2 or 14 count Aida) should be cut 12 inches wide X 24 inches high. The stitch count is 80 wide X 251 high.

If you choose to work in a single thread color, you'll want to have several skeins on hand. I recommend having at least 3 skeins of DMC. You may have to adjust that if you choose a specialty thread.

Also, I'm thinking that Panel 7 will be last one for the NES. I've been doing more freebie designs and I'm liking that. Since there's only so many hours in the day, something has to give! I hope ya'll understand.

But I promise, Panel 7 is the "Piece de Resistance" of the NES series!!

The hosting site for the NES is Fans Of Kitty And Me Designs Facebook Group. If you haven't already joined, please click on this link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/fansofkittyandmedesigns

Of course it will be here on my blog as well.

I'm going to start on the PDF files today and will release part one in the next few days.

Happy Stitching everyone!

Shamrocks Cross Stitch

With St. Patrick's Day just around the corner, I thought I'd share my stitched piece of my Shamrocks Cross Stitch pattern with you:

I finished this up about a week ago.  The little lazy daisy stitches give it a dainty, delicate look!

I'll have to put this away for finishing in time for next year.  I can't get to either one of my sewing machines to finish it.  Once I get my own place, I'll have a lot of nice things to finish sew together!

Here's the pattern leaflet:

Ask for my patterns at your favorite needlework shop or you can find them in my Etsy store.

And if you still want more shamrocks, here is a free little St. Patrick's Day design for you to enjoy stitching:

Click on the image and download to your computer.

It's finally looking like Spring is on it's way!!  It's been a long Winter but these shamrocks should give you a much needed breathe of fresh air!!

Cross Stitch Patterns - New Spring Releases

I spent most of November and December working on my new Spring line of Cross Stitch patterns.  I have bunnies, kitties, chicks, shamrocks and more, all ready for stitching throughout the Winter months!!

Shamrocks - a quick to stitch, whimsical design perfect for St. Patricks Day.  Tiny detached chain stitch flowers add a touch of pink to this pretty March pattern.

Chocolate Bunny - another whimsical design for your Easter stitching!  This chocolate bunny sits among some pretty colored eggs and ready to bloom flowers!

Nesting In The Clover - a pretty English Robin is ready for warmer weather!  She's nesting in a bouquet of bright green clover!

Spring Is In The Air - little Victorian style bunny plays happily in the green grass of spring.  A lovely geometric border finishes the design beautifully.

Forgetmenot Chick - this little yellow chick is ready for Easter carrying his egg filled with tiny blue forgetmenot flowers.  Finished with a lovely geometric border.

Victorian Cat - a precious brown tabby cat is bordered with metallic gold hearts and tiny pink roses.

Rose Garden Cat - everyone loves my cat designs!  This wears a pink ribbon and sits in a rose garden.  The "full coverage" center of the design is surround with a lovely striped border and little pink rosebuds.

Keep Me As The Apple Of Thine Eye - for those of you who love my little "schoolgirl" style Inspirational Samplers, this is the newest in the series.  Psalm 17:8 is surrounded by apples and tiny birds!

Never Ending Sampler Panel 4 - if you've been waiting to order the entire sampler as a whole, it's now available!!

All patterns are available as professionally printed pattern leaflets and as instant digital PDF downloads in my Etsy shop.

Free Cross Stitch Pattern - Dove Of Hope

Little by little, I've been reworking my Cross Stitch freebies into nice printable pages.

I did The Dove Of Hope years ago, when my dear friend Lula Chang developed breast cancer.  Lula beat the disease but died 3 years ago due to other issues.

I've been thinking about her lately, missing her really, and decided that now would be a good time to re-release this design:

This was designed to support Breast Cancer Awareness.  It could certainly be stitched as a Christmas ornament, or a Spring or Valentine's Day project.

Have a good weekend and Happy Stitching!

Happy First Day of Spring!

It's official!  Today is the first day of Spring!  I've had a hard time tearing myself away from my deck lately.  It's been so beautiful outside lately.  I picked my first Daffodils of the season yesterday and put them in a little Jadite vase in my garden window.  The grass is green now and my Magnolia tree is blooming.  Since when does that happen in March?  I'll try to get a picture of it today.  We almost lost it a few years ago but my dear husband and his green thumb, managed to bring it back and it's just beautiful!

I started stitching on this little embroidered piece yesterday:

It's a little hard to see the markings.  Two little kittens sitting in a basket of flowers.  This is an old Vogart pattern.  I've been collecting vintage embroidery iron-transfers for years and years! I find them at flea markets and antique shops.  I've gotten a few from Ebay and Etsy too.  I have so many now, it's hard to find ones that I don't have!  Anyway, I expect to finish this up today.  I may run my sewing machine a bit too.  I want to sew some more crazy quilt blocks and I have a few things to finish.

It's a little hard to type now because Lucy has draped herself across my computer again!  CATS!!!

Happy Spring everyone!

Easter Bunny and White Cat

I finished up another work in progress.  The stitching on my Easter Bunny hanging pillow is done:

I love the colors on this one.  The purples and violets and soft pinks are so Spring like!

And this is my current work in progress:

A little white cat, very Victorian, with yellow and blue flowers.

Not much else going on here at the moment.  Just some stitching and some Spring cleaning.  Have a great day everyone!

Spring Embroidery

Spring!  By the time I reach mid-February, Spring is the only thing I can think about!  Bunnies, chicks, pastel colored eggs and flowers!  Oh, and Robins!  Like most of us, I've now reached my point of having had enough cold, cloudy, dreary, grey days and I'm ready for sunshine and warmer temperatures.  I can't wait to see tulips and daffodils!

My stitching of course, is an example of where my thoughts are.  My current project is definitely Spring related:
I hand painted the lace flower applique which I had to cut apart into pieces to make it work where I wanted it.  This goes back to the "layering" effect that I was talking about last week.  Layering lace on top of fabric, and then more lace on top of lace and then embroidery and embellishments layered on top of that, adds texture, color and interest to any type of collage work.

The tatting lace on the bottom right hand corner is vintage.  I find vintage tatting and other lace pieces at flea markets and antique shops.  Thankfully, those places are in abundance where I live in northern Illinois!  And flea market season starts in April!

This sweet little Easter Bunny piece is now ready for embroidery!
