Button Block 10

It's hard to believe I'm on #10 now! Anyway, I started on this yesterday:

Button Block 10

I plan to have my chores done by 10:30 this morning and then I can stitch on it.

Has anyone else been watching the John Adams miniseries on HBO? If you like historical movies, this one is so good! Episode 3 is on at 10:30 my time so I'll be parking myself in front of my TV.

Debbie asked me if I was using my Waste Canvas technique for my seams on these blocks. Absolutely! I love the perfection of my stitches when I use my borders with Waste Canvas. I've never been good at eyeballing my stitches. The only exception is when I do vines and then those are freehanded.

If anyone is interested in learning my Waste Canvas technique, you can find my Elegant Crazy Quilt Seam Treatments book here.

Those tulips are perfect on that spring-y looking block. Elizabeth

I love the scale of these blocks...just four fabrics and a few seams...like bon bons, you can just do one after another.
This is going to be an amazing quilt!

This one definitely looks like you were "thinking spring" when you worked on it. I love the tulips. Of your 10 blocks, is a color theme emerging? They certainly are pretty!

Elizabeth already said half of what I was going to say...

I'm cableless, so haven't been watching the Adams bio, but I have been watching the Complete Jane Austen on PBS, and enjoying that immensely.

This one looks so springy. The stitching is great, but I really like the ribbon on lace that you did.

Oh, and John Adams. We don't have HBO, so maybe it will show up on History channel at a future time. I figure it's gov't. approved because I've seen the ads in the post office for several months!

It has been a few weeks since I visited you Pam, and look at this - have you been busy, or what!! Everything is divine as usual!

Each block surprises me with how beautiful a few scraps of fabric can be put together with all your frou frous and turn into a little jewel. I love all your fancy stitches and buttons and beads and... What a girly girl you are. With the wind and the snow and the rain and other assorted nasties going on outside, it is wonderful to have a bit of spring hiding in this box. love it

PS Don't get HBO either but have been watching the Jane Austen stories and enjoying them immensely - also a Cubby game from Arizona now and then. Someday it is going to quit snowing and blowing and we'll have May flowers. Longest winter in captivity around here. Ugh
