The Millennium Cats Counted Cross Stitch Patterns

The Millennium Cats were designed in 1999 for the celebration of the upcoming “new millennium”. Because we had no idea what the new millennium would bring, the cats are faceless. I remember there being an overshadowing fear of the internet and all computers shutting down, never to reboot again! LOL!!!

There is one cat for each month of the year and one birthday cat for a total of 13 designs.

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 17 years since I created these little cat designs. They were very popular when I first released them and for those of you who missed them the first time around, I offer them to you now in the new re-published format.

In recent years, I’ve received many requests for these designs. They are perfect for stitching as ornaments, fingertip towels, refrigerator magnets or as a sampler.

In rememberance of the year 2000, which we all survived along with the internet and our computers, I present to you, The Millennium Cats!

2017 Counted Cross Stitch Halloween Mystery Stitch-Along

If you enjoyed my "mystery" cross stitch projects in the past, you'll love the 2017 Halloween Mystery Stitch-Along!

This is a 4 part/4 week mystery.  The schedule is as follows:

The start date is Monday September 18, 2017 for Part 1.
Part 2 Monday September 25, 2017
Part 3 Monday October 2, 2017
Part 4 Monday October 9, 2017

This design is my traditional style, similar to the 2007 Christmas Mystery.

Here is the basic information that you will need to get started:

Stitch Count:  134 stitches square
Fabric:  14 count White Aida or 28 count White Evenweave over 2 fabric threads
Finished size:  9 1/2 inches square
Fabric size for framing:  15 1/2 inches square
Fabric size for a pillow:  13 1/2 inches square
Threads:  DMC

209, 210, 211, 310, 550, 552, 553, 745, 772, 975, 3345, 3346, 3347, 3348, 3823, 3853, 3854, 3855, White

Each part of the 4 part mystery will be released and available to download via my Etsy shop.
The mystery is $10.00.  That will be broken down into 4 parts as well.  You will have to order each part separately at $2.50 each.  Each part of the design will be available as an "Instant Download".

One week after Part 4 is released, the Instant Downloads will be removed and replaced with a " hard copy, leaflet only" full pattern.  So please, download each part as it becomes available.  I've had a horrible time with copyright issues over the years.  I'm hoping that by doing it this way, I will eliminate having to chase my copyrights all over the internet.

So that's my news for today!  Gather your supplies and get ready to stitch a beautiful and fun Halloween project!  Spread the word too!  The more people we have stitching this, the more fun it will be.

If you would like a nice place to discuss the project, you can hop over to Facebook and join the "Fans Of Kitty And Me Designs" group:   https://www.facebook.com/groups/fansofkittyandmedesigns/
There a lot of nice ladies over there to talk with about your project!!!

UPDATE - I'm going to rethink the payment plan and where to upload the files.  International ladies will end up paying way too much in Etsy fees.  Let me think about this over night and I will post the revised upload/payment plan tomorrow.

Free Cross Stitch Pattern - Dove Of Hope

Little by little, I've been reworking my Cross Stitch freebies into nice printable pages.

I did The Dove Of Hope years ago, when my dear friend Lula Chang developed breast cancer.  Lula beat the disease but died 3 years ago due to other issues.

I've been thinking about her lately, missing her really, and decided that now would be a good time to re-release this design:

This was designed to support Breast Cancer Awareness.  It could certainly be stitched as a Christmas ornament, or a Spring or Valentine's Day project.

Have a good weekend and Happy Stitching!

Artist's Trading Cards Crazy Quilt Style - Swap Your Mini's!!!

We all like to send and receive fun things in the mail and we all like to create things that are quick and easy….right?  So the staff of Crazy Quilt Quarterly are excited to announce
‘Swap Your Mini’s – ATC’s CQ Style’!  We’d love for you all to play along (and you can play as often as you’d like!).

All you have to do  is create one (or as many as you’d like) crazy quilted artist trading card(s) and send via snail mail to Pam Kellogg.  You will receive one back for each one you send.  Simple?

Guidelines are as follows:

* Create a crazy quilted artist trading card (2 ½” x 3 ½”).
It must be crazy quilted and it must be the stated size.
We ask that there be no politically themed entries (patriotic is fine).

* Any embellishments should be flat to keep mailing costs down
(eg. seed beads, flat buttons, ribbon, embroidery, charms, etc.)

* Each ATC you create must be mailed to Pam and MUST include a SASE
(self addressed stamped envelope).
Be sure to include a separate SASE for EACH ATC you send!

* Please use the backing card (pattern provided) on each of your ATC’s
and also include your email address on each one so the recipient can contact you.

* NOTE: you will need to privately email Pam at pkellogg@mc.net or Mary Anne at
marmic1954@hotmail.com to indicate your desire to play
and to receive her snail mail address.

* Alas, we can only open this to residents of the United States.
Deadline for receipt is January 31, 2018.

* As a further incentive Pam will photograph each ATC and they will be published in a special edition of the magazine….the date of which will be announced as soon as it becomes available.

* Six of the ATC’s that we receive will be chosen for the cover.
Those six artists will receive a prize - an extra ATC created by one of our staff members!!

Have fun and let’s swap our mini’s – ATC’s CQ Style!!

Be sure to print the above images.  The should fit on a standard sheet of 8 1/2 inch X 11 inch paper.  Use cardstock for the ATC back and the little ATC envelope!

You can also download the PDF file here.

We are hoping to receive and trade at least 300 Crazy Quilt ATC's!!!

Calendar Cover Block

I was thinking, ya'll might like to see the entire block that I used on the cover of the 2018 Crazy Quilt Calendar:

Purple Crazy Quilt Block
The hanky in the center is a gift from a friend.  The bird brooch on the right is also a gift from her.  It's vintage too!

Here it is sewn into a pillow:

Purple Crazy Quilt Pillow
This is a 9 inch block.  I crocheted the trim with some fancy fun yarn and then hand-attached it along the edge of the pillow.  I really like the crocheted edgings with the cool fuzzy yarn!

And here it is on the calendar cover:

2018 Crazy Quilt Calendar
This is available at both Magcloud http://www.magcloud.com/user/kitty-and-me
and at Etsy:  http://www.kittyandme.etsy.com/

Be sure to stop by next week!!  The staff of Crazy Quilt Quarterly magazine has an announcement coming!!!  This is going to be so much fun!!  Don't miss it!

Have a safe and fun 3 day weekend everyone!  I'll be back on Tuesday!
