Busy Day!

Whew!  Never thought I'd get to just sit and blog today.  I went grocery shopping, stopped at the Dollar Tree, went to the Post Office, came home, put everything away.  Cooked up some Italian Sausage for low carb mini pizza's (I'll show you how soon), shredded a Zucchini, made a double batch of Zucchini muffins, a double batch of Banana Chocolate Chip muffins, decorated them, did laundry, did dishes, added a bunch of new stuff to the shop.....are you worn out yet?  LOL!!!  There are days when my ADD just keeps my butt moving right along.  Much better than when the depression has me dragging myself from project to project!

Anyway, thank you all so much for your lovely comments on my little Kitty & Me commercial.  It's not Spielberg by any means but it was fun.  I think I'll do an Autumn themed commercial over the weekend.

Thank you to everyone who left a comment on my latest Give Away Drawing.  All names are in a basket and waiting for the winner to be picked by Bubba.  If you didn't see my post on the Drawing, click here.

Ok, so on to some pictures!  These are the latest additions to Kitty & Me Designs.  First, I've been making Glittered Bottlebrush trees like crazy!  I just love them!!

I have a few more at mom's that I'm working on.  I hope to finish them up tomorrow.

These are mom's latest creastions:

And here are Kathi's newest additions to our Autumn collection:

Like I said, very busy here!

I'm finishing up on a crazy quilt project and I'll have photos of that to share with you soon.  I pulled out the first block on my Marie Antoinette quilt so I'll be starting on that in the not too distant future as well.

For my newbie crazy quilters, I'm going to show you how to do your piecing on a muslin foundation.  I just need a little time to get that written up and be sure that I have photos to include.

Finally for today, be sure to stop by tomorrow to meet my next Guest Blogger.  She's a lovely lady who makes that most gorgeous things!

Drawing!

One of my crazy quilt pieces was recently featured in a new needlework publication called, "Spool":

The premier issue showcases a variety of needlework techniques and articles including a wonderful discussion by my sweet friend Louise Giordono of Scarf It Up on doing in home shows.

This is the projects that I did for the Premier Issue of Spool:

I thought it would be fun to have another drawing!  The winner will receive both a copy of the Premier Issue of Spool and the Crazy Quilt Ornament that I did for my article!!!

The rules are easy.  Just leave a comment on this post and I will put your name in a basket.  The drawing will take place one week from today on October 19th.  My husband will draw a name on that date in the evening when he gets home from work!

So leave a comment and good luck!

Chicken Vegetable Soup Recipe

Not much to share today everyone.  I had to call my Dr. yesterday as the withdrawals were so bad and the depression is not gone yet.  She told me to increase the Zoloft back to 50 milligrams per day and then we'll try dropping the dosage again in a few months.  Feels like a step back but I just couldn't take it anymore.  Maybe more of the depression will be gone in a few months.

I did manage to make a big pot of my Chicken Vegetable Soup yesterday:

Here's the recipe:

CHICKEN VEGETABLE SOUP

3 - 4 pounds cooked chicken breast diced
1 cup diced celery
1 cup diced carrots
1 cup diced onion
2 teaspoons minced garlic
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 1 pound bag frozen mixed vegetables
4 14 oz cans low sodium chicken broth
1/2 cup chopped fresh parsely or 2 teaspoons dried parsley

Saute onion, carrots, celery & garlic in olive oil.  In soup pot, combine all other ingredients.  Add sauted veggies and let simmer for 1/2 hour.

This recipe makes a huge pot!  It's low salt and low fat.  And it freezes well!  Perfect for a cold Winter day.

I'll leave you with some Gingerbread Men Tussy Mussy's by mom:

Shabby Lane Shops

First, I'd like to thank everyone who left sweet comments for my mom!  I'll help her reply to your messages during the week.  I'm just thrilled that you've all taken to my mom so much.  I know that the kindness you've shown her has helped her to cope with her BiPolar and her Depression.

I'd also like to say a special thank you to my sweet friend Lynn Stevens for taking the time to be my Guest Blogger earlier this week.  Lynn has been under the weather but despite her discomfort, she put together a wonderful blog post for me on her Steampunk Art Work and How To Submit Work To Magazines.  Thank you so much Lynn!
