Little Pink Cat Doll

It rained all day yesterday.  After doing a few chores, I sewed up my little pink cat doll and did the hand finishing:

I still have my little seascapes to put together so maybe I'll work on those over the weekend.

I also finished the stitching on my Victorian Purse:

As soon as I feel up to it, I'll assemble this and add it to the shop.

My next project will be a Cat Purse:

I don't know when I pieced this block.  A few years ago I suspect because I almost never repeat fabrics now.  But I'll make it work!

Wedding Mystery Revealed

Despite aimlessly wandering around this house, lost without my Simba, I managed to finish my Wedding project yesterday.  Are ya'll ready?  This was a 2 part project.  A dress and a heart:

This is an angel shaped votive holder.  I meant to take a picture of the frame before I assembled it but with my little Simba being sick when I started the assembly process, I just forgot.

Here is the angel without the heart and without the glass candle holder:

The heart is just tied on so it's removable:

Here's the back:

Once I got the dress and the back on, I stuffed it with tissue paper so the dress didn't "crush" or cave in.  It also needed some weight so the tissue paper helped with that too.  I cute a piece of cardboard for the bottom, glued that on and then added felt.

I glued the vintage lace on to wings and halo and trimmed everything out with cream colored braided gimp.  It took quite awhile to assemble this because I could only do a little gluing at a time.  I used E6000 Jewelry glue to assemble the entire project.

This project was quite a challenge but I'm very pleased with out it came out!

In other news, I stopped at the dollar store yesterday for a few things and found these pretty little butterfly beads:

They're just little plastic butterflies but they're pretty.  If you have a Dollar Tree near you, stop in and pick up a pack.

Finally, I finished up on my little pink cat doll:

These never look like much of anything until I get them put together.  I don't feel like sewing at the moment but maybe later this week I can get my last couple of stitched pieces put together.

A Little Pink Cat Doll

I can't seem to do much these days other than clean my house and do a little stitching.  I don't feel like sewing but thankfully, I keep a little basket of pre-sewn crazy quilt blocks all ready to work on.

I pulled out this little pink cat doll and starting stitching on it yesterday:

I'm quite fond of this little border at the top:

This is worked with my Waste Canvas technique.

I think I'll ask Bubba to take me up to Home Depot today for a plant for my front porch.  Other than that, I know I need to take it easy for awhile now.

Pink Cat

My pink cat crazy quilt hanging pillow is done and ready to be sewn up:

I think I'll spend the afternoon putting my last 3 projects together.  I have several custom orders to do and I like to stay on top of things.

I was asked to do a small purse on a frame so I started on this project last night:

I'll have to pull out one of my books that shows how to actually put the purse on the frame.  I've never done that before.  But first I have to finished stitching this so I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

I won't be taking on anymore custom orders this year. At the moment I have 4.  I'm going to be focusing on following my own muse, putting some new books together and working on some online classes for Maureen at Maureen's Vintage Acquisitions.  Of course, I'll be making things for the shop because I have to stitch.  It's just what I do.

White Cat and Pink Cat

The stitching on my White Cat crazy quilt piece is done:

It was nice to work with this color palette.  You may have noticed that I've been doing a lot with pink, green and purple lately.  I guess those colors are my favorites but I really like all colors and want to do more with the others.

I ended up shoveling my driveway myself yesterday.  I haven't had to do it in years so I shouldn't complain.  The worst part is that it was very wet, heavy snow.  And may I say that Direct TV needs to put windshield wipers on their satellite dishes!  LOL!

You may remember that we upgraded to a high def. TV so we of course, had to upgrade to high def. Direct TV.  Well, it's a bigger dish so instead of putting the new one on the side of the house where I could reach it with a broom to brush the snow off, now it's on the roof where I can barely see it!  When there's snow on the dish, there's no TV reception!

Yes, I had to stand on a chair with a broom, taped to another broomstick and try to brush the snow off the dish without falling on my 50 year old butt!  Ha, ha, ha!  So, this message is for Direct TV!  I need windshield wipers on my satellite dish!

Okay, now that I've amused you with my snow story, here's my next project:

It's not really a pink cat, but he's dressed in pink and I love images of cats in hats!

Large Pink Cat Doll

Yesterday, at 2 am, I somehow managed to bump my electric wax tart melter that I keep on my stove.  I keep it there so it's away from the cats and I can't burn candles because I forget to put them out.  What can I say?  ADD. So I use a little wax tart melter and Yankee tarts to make my house smell like I'm always baking.  Well, I bumped it while making coffee so I had wax all over my stove and all over the wall behind my stove.  It took me over an hour to clean it all up!

After all that, I said AMEN!  I'm stitching!!!  And I did.  I finished up my Pink Cat Doll:

If you look closely at the photo at the top, you can see his little ears!  I have one more large cat doll to stitch up.  That one is blue.  I'll start on it later today.

In the meantime, here is the seam embroidery from the Pink Cat Doll:

I also finally got my little cellphone pouches all sewn up.  All I have left to do on those is to sew on the trim and the little snaps.  I plan to get that done today.

My dad has a Dr.'s appt. today for that final test.  The others all came back normal.  Mom and I are thinking he passed a kidney stone.  I'll be going with him today in case he needs me to drive home.  I suggested that he just let me drive my Towncar because I'm more comfortable driving my own vehicle but that was a "no go".  Men!  They're so stubborn!
