I spent a little time with mom yesterday morning. She was feeling a little better yesterday. When I got home, I had wanted to get our windows washed but it was raining and it looks like it'll be rainy most of the day today. Not like I don't have a million other things I can do! Anyway, after baking a batch of cookies, because my husband thought he was starving, I took it easy and finished up on these brooches:
All that I have left to do is to glue a piece of felt to the back and then add the bar pin. These are gifts.
I pulled out another small CQ piece that I had sewn up awhile back. Not sure if that lace piece is going to stay. I may pick out something else but I like the little violet image and plan to work this in pinks & purples:
I'm wanting to do some sewing this week and I'd like to pull out my box(es) of vintage transfer patterns and maybe stitch a few of those. I haven't done any Crayon Tinting in awhile and I have a ton of new transfers from my flea market travels this past Summer so it would be a good idea to use a few.
I think I'll make a pot of beef soup for dinner tonight too. Soup sounds good, esp. on a dreary rainy day like today!

All the brooches turned out great and I love the coral you stitched on to the undersea blue one. I also like the way you added flowers to the flower cart. The violets in the image are dear. Soup sounds good I may fix that too!

So beautiful and lucky are the receivers of those brooches!
Glad that your mom is feeling better.
Soup does sound good...we are expecting some rain too...I like to sit on the porch when it rains.

Your brooches look so pretty and fun to wear. I'm also liking the newest piece of CQ - the colours are wonderful. What if you dyed the lace a little bit rather than taking it off altogether?
Very pretty brooches, Pam. Will you share your recipe for beef soup please?
Your brooches are beautiful! And I love that new crazy quilt piece...the colors are luscious!!! I think you would be a really fun person to go fabric shopping with!
I tried to leave a comment earlier but blogger was messing up. I love those little broaches. They are so very pretty. (i run out of words to describe how beautiful your work is so please excuse if I use the same words over and over) Crayon tinting, sounds very interesting. I will have to look for some vintage transfers. Would you mind posting a pic so I know exactly what to look for.. Thank you. Hugs, Kim
