We're nearing the end of Panel 3 of the Never Ending Sampler. I think we've been working on this for 2 years now, right? Lot's more to go! But for now, I have Band #15.
First, the entire Panel 3 sampler so far:
I'm sure you can see the Four Seasons "theme" that I worked in to this panel!!!
Here is Band 15 by itself:
Simple cross stitches and straight stitches create the snowflakes!
Here is Band 15 with the band 14 overlap for placement purposes:
There will be 1 more band on this Panel and then we'll talk about Panel 4 and when that will start.
Happy Stitching!

Never Ending Sampler Panel 3 Band 14
If you're working on the Never Ending Sampler, I have Band 14 of Panel 3 for you today. First, the entire sampler so far:
And here is Band 14:
Band 14 is another example of the Rhodes stitch. I love this stitch. It offers a lot of opportunities from a design perspective. We'll be doing more of them down the road.
Here is the overlap for placement purposes:
This link will show you how to work this stitch:
https://www.needlework-tips-and-techniques.com/rhodes-stitch.html
I've chatting a bit with Sharon B who is an expert on all the various stitches and hopefully, she will have some examples and directions soon as well.
We are nearing the end of Panel 3. Once completed, I will give everyone a short break to get caught up and then we'll start on Panel 4.
Get out your DMC thread colors because we're going to stray a bit from what we've been doing. You'll still be able to choose your own colors for some areas. You'll see. I just want to give ya'll some more options for creating a unique sampler and crazy quilt seam treatments.

Never Ending Sampler - Rhodes Heart Stitch
Yesterday, I posted Band 13 of the Never Ending Sampler. This lovely border includes a heart worked with the Rhodes Stitch.
Pam Rhodes is up to date on Panel 3 so I wanted to share a photo of her sampler and a close up of her Rhodes Hearts.
First, Pam's sampler:
This sampler is just lovely worked in the variegated red thread.
Here is a closeup of Pam's hearts:
These hearts are raised when completed. They are just lovely!!! Thank you Pam, for the photos!
Directions for creating the Rhodes Heart are here:
http://needlepointstudyhall.blogspot.com/2015/07/rhodes-heart-21-x-18-diagram.html
The stitch count is a little different than mine but the directions are the same!!

Never Ending Sampler Panel 3 Band 13
So anyone starting to see the theme of Panel 3? Let me know if you are!!!
This is Panel 3 of the Never Ending Sampler so far:
And here is Band 13 by itself:
The hearts are worked in straight stitches. Start at the bottom of the heart and work your way around to the other side of it.
This will be the most challenging stitch we've done so far! But I know when you get the hang of it, you're going to love the way it looks!!!
Here's some closeup's of the heart pattern:
I don't want anyone to stress over this stitch. Just do the best you can with it. If you complete it (and I know some of you know exactly how to do this), please send me a closeup photo and I will post it here and on the Facebook group!
Here's the border with the overlap:
Have a great weekend and have fun with this stitch!!!
