Never Ending Sampler Panel 5 Band 1

I hope everyone is caught up on all the panels of The Never Ending Sampler.  Are you ready to start on Panel 5?

As with Panel 4, we'll be working with a specific color palette however, you're welcome to change the colors or threads to anything you like.  This is your sampler so you do it your way.  Here is the key:

Never Ending Sampler Panel 3 Band 14

If you're working on the Never Ending Sampler, I have Band 14 of Panel 3 for you today.  First, the entire sampler so far:

Band 14 is another example of the Rhodes stitch.  I love this stitch.  It offers a lot of opportunities from a design perspective.  We'll be doing more of them down the road.

I've chatting a bit with Sharon B who is an expert on all the various stitches and hopefully, she will have some examples and directions soon as well.

We are nearing the end of Panel 3.  Once completed, I will give everyone a short break to get caught up and then we'll start on Panel 4.

Get out your DMC thread colors because we're going to stray a bit from what we've been doing.  You'll still be able to choose your own colors for some areas.  You'll see.  I just want to give ya'll some more options for creating a unique sampler and crazy quilt seam treatments.

Never Ending Sampler Panel 3 Band 13

So anyone starting to see the theme of Panel 3?  Let me know if you are!!!

This is Panel 3 of the Never Ending Sampler so far:

And here is Band 13 by itself:

The hearts are worked in straight stitches.  Start at the bottom of the heart and work your way around to the other side of it.

This will be the most challenging stitch we've done so far!  But I know when you get the hang of it, you're going to love the way it looks!!!

I don't want anyone to stress over this stitch.  Just do the best you can with it.  If you complete it (and I know some of you know exactly how to do this), please send me a closeup photo and I will post it here and on the Facebook group!

Is everyone caught up on the Never Ending Sampler Stitch-Along?  Or are ya'll outside working in your gardens?  If you need some quiet time to cool off, here is Band #9 of Panel #2.

Work this band with back-stitching.  This is a blackwork band.  You can work this band all in one color or you can work it in multiple colors.  Or you can work it traditionally, with black!  Have fun with it!

Never Ending Sampler Panel 1 - Band 17

Work the flower centers with Eyelet stitching.  The rest is cross stitches and back stitches.

Once my husband's cancer treatment is done, I'll get on a schedule with this sampler.  Until then, I'm uploading the bands as I have time.

You can use beads or French Knots on the points.

Never Ending Sampler Stitch Along Panel 1 Band 11

Today I have Band #11 for those of stitching the Never Ending Sampler or working the bands as seam treatments on your crazy quilts.

Work the fans with straight stitches.  The little stars are double cross stitch aka Smyrna Cross.

I have another band for those of you who are working on the Never Ending Sampler Stitch Along or for the crazy quilters using these as seam treatments.

For Band #9 = Work the little "diamonds" with straight stitches.  For the little leaves, use 3 strands of floss so they look like satin stitching.

For my crazy quilters, these borders can all be used as seam treatments using waste canvas.  All are available individually now.  You find them here:  Crazy Quilt Seam Treatments

I will give you all a break now until next week.  I know some of you need time to get caught up and with Christmas coming in another week, you have as much stitching time but I'll give you 1 or 2 bands next week so no worries.  I just don't want anyone to feel pressured.  This is for fun!

Never Ending Sampler - Individual Bands

Some of our stitchers asked if I could post the bands for the samper individually.  Yes, no problem.  Here they are:

Never Ending Sampler Panel 1 Band 6

Band 6 for the Never Ending Band Sampler:

The flowers are worked with 3 strands of floss and straight stitches.  They should look like satin stitches when they're done.  Below is a closeup of the flower.

It'll Be A Peacock!

For those of you who guessed a peacock for the focal point on this wall hanging, you are correct!  Unfortunately, I haven't gotten that far with it yet:

I did not embroidery the fabric in the above photo.  I'm fortunate enough to be give outdated fabric sample books from a local decorating store.  Some of these fabrics are so incredibly beautiful!  The floral fabric in this photo is from one of the sample books.  Some of these fabrics sell for $150 - $300 per yard.  Yikes!!!  I couldn't even afford a 1/8 yard piece!

But I'm so grateful that the store owner gives me the sample books for my crazy quilting.  How else could I have some of these wonderful fabrics to use in my work!
