Show & Tell

I started this little Crinoline Lady right before I went on vacation. I completed the stitching yesterday and then just now, added the seed beads. She's from my vintage transfer collection and as you can see, I did a bit of crayon tinting.

My next project will be this 5 inch Halloween block. As I mentioned before I went out of town, I'm doing 3 of these so this is 2nd in the series.

Halloween 2

So, you're probably all wondering where I was huh? Well, my husband and I drove down to Louisville Kentucky for the Streetrod Nationals. It's the biggest antique car show in the US. My father in law owns a beautiful 1931 Ford Model A Roadster and he's been to the Streetrod Nationals every year since they started it. He was receiving a special award for his yearly attendance and wanted Scott and I to be there. So that's what we did.

I must say, Kentucky is an incredibly beautiful state! We did some sight seeing and found some really neat places. One of them was Abraham Lincoln's birthplace! Very cool!

I'm still a bit out of sorts and need a few more days to get my brains back in my head. Hopefully over the weekend, I'll get our photos transfered to the computer and share some of them here.

100 Details In 100 Days - Day 51

Motif Black Cat

For all the cat lovers out there, today's crazyquilt detail is a little charted black cat. Imagine this stitched next to a straight seam! Embellish him with some SRE, or add a little ribbon collar with some beads or sequins!
Of course, you can stitch him in any color, I just have a thing for little black cats.

I can't believe we're already 1/2 way through the 100 Details In 100 Days project. I've enjoy this so much and I'll feel sad when it's over.

Today's detail is another design from one of Gina's beautiful embroidered peacock linens.

Again, you'll have to work from both the pattern and the photo. This one was a bit hard to trace.

Try working the feathers with a varigated or overdyed floss!

If you download this pattern, please take a moment to hop over to Gina's blog and thank her for allowing me to draft patterns from her linen collection.

100 Details In 100 Days - Day 49

Motif Embroidered Rose

I'm back! But I have to keep this post short. I need to run uptown and pick up some groceries. My cupboards are empty!

So I'll post more later but for now, today's crazyquilt detail is a rose for outline embroidery. You can do this in whatever colors you wish or it would look great done in Redwork with different red fabrics crazypatched around it!

Enjoy and I'll share more later.
