I started another purse project yesterday morning, this one features a Harrison Fisher image:
This has always been one of my favorite Harrison Fisher images so I don't know if I'll keep this one or not yet.
It's been a busy day for me! I did a lot of yard work. Cut some things back, picked up sticks, just end of Summer stuff.
I also did a bit of Autumn decorating. This is my garden window:
We didn't get a good crop of pumpkins this year but we had a few and some were ready to pick yesterday. I love pumpkins. They're happy looking!
And this is my kitchen table:
I love old mason jars and use them for so many things, including vases!

Lesson 8 Is Now Available
Lesson 8 of my Online Crazy Quilt Class is now available!
In this lesson we'll be focusing on French Knots and Stumpwork techniques.
If you're participating in this class, you can easily download and print this leaf pattern for the Lesson 8.
The leaf when printed should measure approx. 2 inches high.
If you're new to my blog, you can find more information on my Crazy Quilt Color and Composition Course here.
This class basically covers how to compose a block using color. It's runs like a stitch along. There will be 25 lessons all together and in the end, we will have a beautiful 25 block sampler quilt which can be referred to for ideas to use on future crazy quilt projects. Each lesson has a theme and specifics that have to be used.
Fall is coming so Lesson 9 will be titled, The Great Pumpkin!
Don't forget to email me photos of your blocks. I'll post them here on my blog so everyone can enjoy seeing them!

Antique Embroidery Books
First, I have a quick update on my Christmas Crazy Quilt Block:
I pulled some lace and trim for this block and sewed those pieces down so next, I can start stitching. Which I'll do when I get offline. It's very hot today so I don't plan to sit on my deck until this evening when it cools off.
In other news, to satisfy my insatiable appetite for embroidery techniques and information, I came across a site that is loaded with old embroidery books, all available to read online. As I go through these antique embroidery books, I'll embed the links here so you can enjoy them too. This one is called Wallachian Embroidery. I haven't read through it all yet but I think crazy quilters may find this book useful for new ideas:
If I added the link correctly, you should be able to read this book right here on my blog.
If you look closely at the photos and read through the first page, you'll see that it's nothing more than the Buttonhole stitch. But how it's worked produces some very lovely effects and the photos might give you some fun ideas to try with your crazy quilt projects.
