Cross Stitch Pumpkin Block Finished

I woke up quite early this morning and decided to stitch on the pumpkin block:

It's a cloudy, rainy day here so the photo isn't great.  It's brighter than it looks here but it's done.  I'll start on this one next:

The cross stitch owl looks a little washed out due to the dreariness of the day today.  The design is by Shannon Christine Designs.  This is a little freebie on her website.  She has tons of pretty patterns so do hop over and take a look at her work.

Cross Stitch And Crazy Quilting

I had a bunch of little cross stitch pieces that I did over the years.  They were the perfect size for 6 inch crazy quilt blocks:

So I spent Saturday sewing them up.  I started stitching on one over the weekend.  Had to do the pumpkin first since it's October:

I don't remember who the designer is because I stitched this a few years ago.  I like to give credit where credit is due but I just don't remember.  It might be a Lizzie Kate design.

This is the block before I started stitching on it:

I don't stress out over doing curved pieces.  I just top stitch them and then sew trim over them.  This afternoon, I'll started adding my beloved beads and sequins to this block.

If anyone is interested, all back issues of Crazy Quilt Quarterly Magazine are still available in my Etsy shop.

On Sunday, I ran over to the local farm market to get some pumpkins.  They have a little petting zoo every year in the Fall.  I fell in love with this little guy:

I could have spent all afternoon just playing with him.  He was so sweet and really seemed to enjoy the fact that I'm a sucker for animals!

Another Block

This is another block that I don't think I ever posted.  I'm pretty sure I did it last Summer when my dad was sick:

The beaded piece in the center is a Mill Hill beaded pin that I made years ago.  I used to love making them when they were more beads than stitches.  The little pink rhinestone piece in the bottom left corner came from mom.  I think she got it at Michaels or Hobby Lobby.  She never went anywhere with buying me something.

I still have a few Crazy Quilt Cat Dolls in my Etsy shop:

I've pre-packaged them for gift giving.  Not sure if I'll do any more anytime soon.

I need to sew up some more 6 inch blocks, I have my McHenry Landmark Quilt to finish, I'm working on a cross stitch project for Thanksgiving and I have a ton of things that need to be sewn together.  Not to mention that I haven't used my Kitchenaid in like, forever!!  And I've been wanting to make some cookies!  But I'm still burned out and have to pace myself.  Not at all like me but it is what it is.

Winter Block

Thank you for your kind comments everyone.  Yes, it's been a long, hard road for quite a few years.  So still in the "one day at a time" thing.

I don't think I ever posted this block.  I think I did it when my dad was in the hospital.  I found the little reindeer ornament at an estate sale quite a few years back.  The purple snowflakes were in my mom's stash.  I still have more.  The little trees and polar bears are buttons from my stash.
