Shortly after my mom past away in April of 2023, my dad got sick. I took care of him for a year and he passed away on November 4 2024.
I spent months and months packing up the house and finished up just a few weeks back.
So that's why I've been MIA for so long. I try to stitch when I can but I'm burned out now and will get back to it when I can.I'm just now starting to think about designing again. It'll probably be a little slow going and I don't plan to go back to full time work, just part time.
One of my little cats is sick with Irritable Bowel Disorder. No rest for the weary right! Giving him meds is a nightmare. This isn't my first rodeo with cats and meds but I've never had one fight me like Bleubird does. Thankfully, the meds aren't forever and hopefully he'll start responding to the treatment soon. He's only 11 years old and has only been getting meds since Thursday.
A couple weeks ago, I was at the McHenry County Historical Museum. They have several beautiful Crazy Quilts and some antique samplers on display among other cool textile things. I'll share photos next time.

Sorry about your Dad. That's a big task closing up a house and all the other estate stuff that needs done. It all takes up so much brain power & physical energy, leaving little for things like designing needlework, or even stitching for fun.
I don't envy you having to give an uncooperative cat medicine - can be quite painful, and I don't mean for the cat. Been there, done that. I hope they start working soon for him.
I feel for what you have been going through. So much in so little time.... Take all the time you need to get your creative bug back. I know I took a little time away after my mother in law passed away in April of last year and it took several months before I picked up a needle, and my quilting languished until just last week.
I'm also dealing with the same thing with my kitties right now. 3 are on medication and my 19 pound maine coon fights it every night. He has been a bit of a dilemma and I'm lucky if I can get his pill into him every 3rd night. Even with the burrito method he gets free.
Hang in there!
I hope your kitty cat gets well soon.
You know I've been where you are when it comes to dealing with parents passing and then having to deal with their estates. It's not easy and takes more out of you than you can ever imagine.
So sorry about your kitty.
