I'm Back!

After a few months of a blogging break, I'm back with a new look and a new intention for this blog.

Before I get into all of that, I thought I would update you on what I've been doing. As you know, my husband and I intend to build a new house and sell this one. I've been doing some of those silly little things that never seem to get done. My closets are neat and very organized although I still have a few boxes in the attic to go through as well as a few drawers here and there. We still have some drywall in the hallway upstairs to fix (that's my husband's job) and we'll have to repaint that but I do have the trim and stenciling all primed so we can paint over that when he's done. We still have several larger projects that need taking care of as well but I intend to hire someone to do most of it.

Anyway, it doesn't sound like much but that's what I've been doing. I've read quite a few books too. I started a new CQ purse last week and I'll share a photo of that with you tomorrow.

In other news, some of you may remember that I was making handmade cards for Scott's grandmother. She was 93 and in a nursing home so I made special cards for her and sent her one each week. Well, Grandma passed away in September. A sad time for us but we know it's what she wanted. I know the cards I made for her were greatly appreciated and enjoyed and thankfully, my mother in law kept all of them and is making a scrapbook with them. There were quite a few over the last year!

My mom and I get together every Friday and make cards but without Grandma, I just don't have too many people to send them to so I decided to offer them in my Etsy shop. I'll be offering some of my mom's cards as well. As you know, I love glitter and embellishments and these are loaded with both! In fact, the scans of them just don't do them justice. They are so pretty in person, so glittery and a keepsake gift in and of themselves!

I've uploaded 6 for now and will be adding more shortly. I have some Thanksgiving and Christmas cards coming soon too! I started making cards for Grandma because store bought cards were just too wordy. I really just wanted Grandma to know that we were thinking of her and give her something to look forward to. Please take a look of you have someone special like my husband's grandmother who would enjoy receiving something pretty to look at.

Also, I have officially retired from cross stitch designing. I've reached the point of "burn-out" on that and have taken up some new interests. If there are any of my cross stitch designs that you are looking for, please order them as I will be discontinuing the patterns in my Etsy shop shortly.

I will continue to offer my Crazy Quilt book as I'm sure there are many stitcher's who would still find it quite helpful:

Elegant Crazy Quilt Seam Treatments

I use this technique to create perfectly sized and spaced borders on my crazy quilt projects. I have the book on sale at the moment for $17.00.

So, what do you all think of the new look? I'm sure you're all quite curious about it. Tomorrow, I'll share my current CQ project with you and I'll explain what the new look is all about.

I am very sorry to hear about the loss of your grandmother. Losing someone that you care about is always hard, no matter your age.

I am also saddened to see that you are retiring from cross stitch. I will miss the mystery designs that you created and the gorgeous Christmas designs.

Thank you so much for designing such beautiful things!

Hi Pam, I have just discovered your return, via SharonB's blog In A Minute Ago. I'm so pleased you have returned to blogging, it is always such a pleasure to see your works in progress.
And the new look is great, as well as the new intention.
