Something To Crow About

Okay, I know it's early, and I'm not in any hurry for Fall because after Fall comes Winter and ya'll know how I feel about that!  But mom likes stitching Fall things so for today, I have a few Fall Door Hanging Pillows that mom stitched.  First is my favorite, the one with the crows:

And then lots of pretty pumpkins!

I'm finishing up the little gifts that I've been working on and my last 2 purses are just about done.  I'll try to have photos of them tomorrow.

I spent yesterday sewing up some new blocks and I'm hoping to sew up a few more next week.  Maybe a few small things like cellphone pouches and a few door hangers.  I like making them too.

In other news, I'm just waiting on the last 3 calendar blocks to come in.  When I have them all, I'll announce the lovely Crazy Quilt artists who graciously contributed a block.

Crazy Quilt Button Hearts

These Crazy Quilt Button Hearts took me a little bit longer to finish than they normally do.  I hand crocheted the trim for each one and then sewed that on by hand:

The maples leaves are metal leaves from a candle holder arrangement that I bought at a garage sale a few years ago for a dollar or 2..  My husband cut the leaves off for me and primed them with car primer and then I hand painted them with acrylic paint.

Most of the buttons are vintage although a few are newer and I made the beaded dangles to go with each heart.  So these are done and in my Etsy shop.

I still have to finish up the last 2 purses that I made and I have to sew up some new blocks so I have something to stitch on when I finish up the little gifts that I'm working on.  Yes, I will share them but not until later this year.

How About Them Apples!

Sorry for my long disappearance but I just haven't been able to complete finish up my most recent projects.  I'm also working on some gifts that I can't share yet so without anything interesting to write about, I thought I'd just wait and spare ya'll my ramblings about nothing!  LOL!!!

I will have some finishes in the next few days but in the meantime, here are a couple of little Apple Hanging Pillows that Mom made:

I hope everyone is having a Happy late Spring - early Summer!  We've plenty of rain so our Pumpkin Patch is doing quite well.  As soon as it takes off a little more, I'll share some photos.  Pumpkins just take over the yard!

Crazy Quilt Hearts

The other day, I started stitching on a few Crazy Quilt Hearts.  This is the first one:

This one is done and ready to sew together.  And this is the next one:

I just started on this one earlier today.  There will be 4 all together.  But before I can get back to stitching, I have to change my hummingbird feeders, fold a load of laundry and wash up a few dishes.  Chores!!!  I'd rather be stitching!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend

I hope everyone is enjoying a happy and safe Memorial Day weekend.  I don't really see this day as one to celebrate but instead, I prefer to see it as a day to be thankful for our military.  To remember the many men and women who serve our country and those who have lost their lives in service to our country.  Forget the politicians and the government.  It's the Armed Forces who protect our country.  It's the Armed Forces who represent our country.  And it's the Armed Forces that we should give our gratitude and respect to.  And to the men and women of our Armed Forces, thank you!

I have a couple if things to share today.  First, I finished stitching up my blue clutch purse:

Notice the dragonfly that I made from a pair of vintage clip-on earrings!  I'll have to get in a sewing day soon to do the finishing.

I also started on a couple of crazy quilt hearts.  This is the first one:

I pieced 4 of these so I'll stitch them up before moving on to more purses.

Again everyone, have a safe Memorial Day and if you know a soldier in our military, please take a moment to say a little prayer of gratitude for him or her.  And even if you don't know a soldier personally, please take a moment to be grateful for all of them.
