The Needles Excellency Blog
I found an interesting blog this morning. Laren's "The Needles Excellency" is a Historcally focused needlework blog. Be sure to scroll down to her WIP's and click on her Blackwork Shirt. Whoa! That is beautiful!
Back To Needlework
I finished one of the Kitten Pillowcases Saturday night. I still have to finish the 2nd one. All I have on that is the ribbon and then the flowers. Then I can rinse them, press them and put them on my bed!
I'm going to start on another CQ block sometime this week so stay tuned!

Garden Gems
This beautiful swallowtail butterfly let me walk right up to her. I was only about 2 feet away when I took this picture.
Obviously, I'm getting better with our digital camera!

Garden Gem 2
This one looks like a swallowtail to me judging by the shape of his wings but I couldn't find a photo of him in my butterfly book so I'm not sure. I would welcome any enlightenment if anyone knows what this little one is.

Hummingbirds In My Garden!
One of the most treasured gifts I've ever received came from my model stitcher, Kim.
Two Summer's ago, after trying 2 different Hummingbird Feeders, a package arrived in my mailbox. It was this little Hummingbird Feeder. The HummZinger. The day after I hung it out in my garden, I had a hummingbird!
Here up north, we only have one species, the Ruby Throat. This little hummingbird, the tiniest of all birds, is a female. Only the male hummingbirds have the red throat.
I took these photos 2 weeks ago. You just don't get any closer than this!
Enjoy!
