More Embroidered Door Hangers

Here are a few more embroidered door hangers that I've made:

These patterns are from my vintage iron-on transfer embroidery pattern collection.  I've been collecting them for years and years.  I find them at flea markets and antique shops.  I've bought a few from Ebay and Etsy too.  And on rare occasion, I get lucky and find them at garage sales!

Embroidered Door Hangers

I've been busy working on the Spring issue of Crazy Quilt Quarterly magazine.  I'm running late on it due to the holidays.  So please forgive me for not posting much lately.  As soon as I'm done with it, I'll get back to the Never Ending Sampler Stitch-Along and all the other things that I usually post about.

I've been doing some stitching and enjoying my collection of vintage iron-on embroidery patterns:

These are Crayon Tinted and then embroidered.  I sewed them together over the weekend.  My husband was kind enough to stuff them for me!!!

I have more pieces to sew together and will post them when I have them done.

For now, I have to get back to the magazine so I have it ready for everyone on February 1st!

New Pillows, Purses and Door Hangers! Oh My!

I've finally finished up all of my projects!  And Mom has been working away too!  Here's an update on our finishes.  First, I finished up 4 new Crazy Quilt Pillows:

And here are the most recent Crazy Quilt Purses that I made:

And them made this pretty Summer Watermelon Door Hanger:

And these sweet little Porcelain Doll ornaments:

I finished stitching up another pillow project but I'll save that photo for next time!

Everything is available now in my Etsy shop!

Finally, Door Hangers

I don't know what took me so long to get these Door Hangers posted.  They've been done for awhile but I guess I had some other things on my plate that needed wrapping up!

So anyway, these are my new door hangers:

And this one is that Mom finished recently:

I hand painted a few lace pieces for her to use on the things she makes and it looks like she's finally using them!

In other news, tomorrow is a much needed sewing day.  I will be getting Part 1 of the tutorial together for Broiderie Perse applique on crazy quilting.  And I'll be sewing up a few new blocks to stitching on.

Part 2 of the tutorial will come when I get to stitching on the block for the tutorial.  But I'll get the first part posted in the next few days.

Door Hangers

I was just getting ready to sew these into door hangers when I realized that I never posted photos of them:

These were just a couple of smaller projects that I was working on before starting on my design for the 2016 Crazy Quilt Calendar.

Another thing I realized is that before I sew them up, I need to fiddle with the tension on my sewing machine.  I'm not sure how it got screwed up but I've been putting off fixing it for awhile now.  I don't have patience for little things like that.  Isn't that funny?  I can stitch and sew beads and other dodads on for hours but taking the time to mess with the tension on my sewing machine is tedious and boring.  But if I don't do it, it won't get done so I'm off......

New Door Hangers

I've been working on the computer all day so I'll just post some eye candy!  These are new Door Hangers.  The hearts are Mom's and the Crazy Quilt ones are mine:

All are available at Etsy.  I'm off now to go make dinner.  Then a shower and then, if I can keep my eyes open long enough, I'll pin on my phone for a little while!

Working In The Yard

We finally had a nice weekend so I was able to get out in the yard and finish cleaning it up.  I picked up sticks, pinecones and trash that blew in over the Winter months.  I pulled the first of the weeds, swept the sidewalk and am waiting now for Bubba to clean and reseal the deck.  It really feels good to get outside!

I have a few finishes to share today before I get back to stitching on my 2nd Watermelon purse.  First is this door hanger that I made for my aunt for Mother's Day.  I don't think she reads my blog:

And then I have a friend who needs a hug.  Seems there's a lot of people who need hugs these days.  I made her this little cat doll:

I'll pack up this cat tomorrow so I can get it to the Post Office next time I go into town.  I don't think I've ever done one in black with yellow stitch before.  I love the contrast!

I'm also working on putting together some good links on "How To Take Good Photos".  I thought it might be helpful to anyone who wants to submit work to Crazy Quilt Gatherings magazine or other upcoming publications.  I learned lot from reading articles at Etsy so when I have a few free minutes, I'll post those links.

Beaded Brooch

My current project is this little pink Crazy Quilt cellphone pouch.  My aunt asked me to make one for her for a gift so here's an update:

And here's a closeup of the beading I did around the brooch:

This is a little vintage Petit Point brooch that I bought a few years back at a garage sale.  I think I paid $1.00 for it.  It worked nicely with this piece so I beaded around it.

My chores (except for laundry) are done for the day so I'll get to stitch on it some more now.

Also, mom gave me a couple of new Hanging Heart Door Hangers to add to our Etsy shop:

Mom made this one from a pretty floral print fabric.  And the pink one is made from a vintage embroidered linen and vintage crocheted lace:

Shamrock Photos

As always, I put too much on my plate at one time and then I have to try to figure out how to get everything done.  I'm always off in a few different directions but I guess that's how I function so I've learned to just go with it.  I'm in the process to playing catch-up and trying to get my projects down to just 2 at any given time.  Wish me luck.

In other news, I have a helper now.  Jason Dumont has been doing the graphic work for my books and classes for awhile now and he's just officially become my assistant.  Yes, I need one.  I can't do everything.  I thought I was superwomen but I just can't be everywhere and have time to create and keep my house clean too.  So if ya'll have a free moment, please hop over to my Kitty and Me Designs Facebook page and say hello to Jason.  He will he posting there from now on.  I will still post on my personal Facebook wall.

Finally for today, I have some Shamrock photos to share with you.  My mom made these pretty door hangers from vintage images that I printed for her on fabric.  These images are all from vintage St Patricks Day greeting cards:

Valentine Door Pillows

Just a couple of quick eye candy photos for today everyone.  These are the last of my Crazy Quilt Valentines for this year.  The first 2 are models for my upcoming book, "Elegant Cross Stitch Sentiments For Crazy Quilting"

Both are available in my Etsy shop.

These 3 are gifts that I made:

I just finished stitching up a purse (in pink of course!) so I'll have photos of that soon!
