On a crazy quilting note, I looked when I was in WalMart for some trim that would work on my Shamrock quilt but no luck, and no pun intended! Maybe I should use something I already have. That would be new! I wanted to list it in my Etsy shop this week but it must be perfect first so will keep looking for the right thing.

Crayon Tinted Doorknockers
My mom made these beautiful vintage style designs so I thought I would share them here. I just love doorknockers! As you can see, each has a bit of crayon tinting on them!

Good Luck Quilt
Well, I thought this was complete until I looked at it on the computer. It still needs something. The white lace is distracting. I think it's a bit too wide but not sure. Walmart has some shamrock lace. I think I'll pick some up tomorrow when I'm there, hand paint it and sew it around the edge of the crazyquilt block. That should be fun considering the quilt is all layered and bound! I'll just have to run my needle in between the layers. The shamrock lace may not even be the right thing but I won't know until I try it. And it if it doesn't work, it won't go to waste. I'll just use it on something else. If it does work, I'll post a new photo when it's done.

Basket Kitten 1 Sewn and Finished
I'm ba-ack! Sorry I disappeared. Been trying to get some more finishing done. And still working on my Zweigart CQ project. Hope to complete the stitching on that by the end of the day. If all goes well and that actually happens, I can do the machine finishing tomorrow and then get back to my regular CQing!

In the meantime, here's a pic of my first Basket Kitten doorknocker. I think I'm going to do some cellphone pouches and some handbags. In fact, maybe I'll make my strawberry block into a handbag. I think that would be a cool finishing technique for a CQ block!
More tomorrow!

Velvet Flowers
Lilla Le Vine has shared a wonderful tutorial on making a Gypsy Purse with velvet flowers. The directions are here at Art-e-zine. If you're on dial-up, the page will take a bit of time to load but it's well worth that wait!
I tried to find some white velvet so I could hand-dye it and give the velvet flowers a try but no one carries it around here. Does anyone have a clue on where to find some?

Embellishments
I was worried that I wouldn't have anything to share today! My current CQ project is for a magazine so I can't post photos, at least not yet.
However, I was checking out some of the advertisments in the new issue of Quilting Arts magazine and well, you all know how the internet works. One link lead to another and I found this really great site for embellishments!
Cartwright's Sequins and Buttons has so much to look at and certainly, enough variety for the serious embellisher!
Have fun!
