Garfield

I had to say goodbye to my teddy bear today.

Garfield

Farewell Master, yet not farewell.
Where I go, ye too shall dwell.
I am gone before your face, a moment's time, a little space.
When ye come where I have stepped, ye will wonder why ye wept.

Edwin Arnold

Farewell, Master, yet not farewell.
Where I go, ye too shall dwell.
I am gone before your face,
A moment's time, a little space.
When ye come where I have stepped
Ye will wonder why ye wept.

Farewell, Master, yet not farewell.
Where I go, ye too shall dwell.
I am gone before your face,
A moment's time, a little space.
When ye come where I have stepped
Ye will wonder why ye wept.

  7. My heart goes out to you, as I have just lost my furson Odo. But my dear Boomer, who is an orange tabby like Garfield, is (thankfully) well at age 14 and ever my best buddy. Do you have another furkid to help you over this?? Big hugs, Cathy

  10. Sincere condolences on Garfield's crossing. The poem says it so much better than I can. He will always be in your heart, and perhaps unseen but still by your side.

  11. I am there with you in spirit. I lost my golden boy, Ziggy on 2/20. Nothing but time can heal the pain. But know that I'm thinking about you.

    I'm very sorry for your loss.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    To a Siamese Cat by Michael Joseph
    I shall walk in the sun alone
    Whose golden light you loved:
    I shall sleep alone
    And, stirring, touch an empty place:
    I shall write uninterrupted
    (Would that your gentle paw
    Could stay my moving pen just once again!).
    I shall see beauty
    But none to match your living grace:
    I shall hear music
    But not so sweet as the droning song
    With which you loved me.
    I shall fill my days
    But I shall not, cannot forget:
    Sleep soft, dear friend,
    For while I live you shall not die.
  18. Pam, I'm sending you big warm hugs from Australia, hope they may be of some comfort for you at this sad time. I've lost many feline companions over the years and each time it feels like a member of the family has passed. Hope time heals for you too. Best wishes and Hooroo,
    Christine.
