As I mentioned yesterday, I've been busy, busy, busy! I have been stitching like crazy and made some pretty St Patricks Day decorations:
This one is a model for my upcoming Crazy Quilt book:
All of these are at Etsy.
I also made this little St. Patrick's Day cat doll as a gift for a friend:
And I made 2 more door hangers for gifts but still have to sew them together. Will post photos when I have them ready.
For now, I'm getting ready to stitch up the cover design for my next crazy quilt booklet!

Original Berlin Work Cards
I've posted these before, years ago, but I came across them this morning while looking for one of my own patterns and thought it would be nice to share them again.
These are old, original Berlin Wool Work Cards. They are hand painted and made in Germany and made probably before 1850. I found these at an antique shop and can you believe, I only paid 50 cents for each of them?
Anyway, 2 of them are marked Wiener Stickmuster. The other is unmarked. Please enjoy them. I scanned them at 400 dpi so they should be easy to stitch from if anyone would like to do that.
If you would like to "Pin" my images, please feel free to do so but please be sure a link to my blog is included.

Etsy Pillows by Mom!
Mom is back in the swing of things now that the holidays are over! She's been doing some sewing and made this beautiful vintage style Cottage bird pillow:
The image is one that I printed on fabric for her and yes, mom did do the embroidery and beadwork!
Then mom made this precious little Happy Birthday Door Pillow with Cats:
Again, the little image is one I printed for her on fabric.
Isn't is amazing what my mom can do with so little vision? But she has determination and that's what keeps her sewing, stitching and crafting!

Cat Purse
I think this has to be my favorite purse that I've made yet! I don't know why I have done a Crazy Quilt Cat Purse before:
Yes, that's a vintage rhinestone leaf brooch! I love using vintage things on my crazy quilts! I love the colors in this purse. Very antique looking and I hate to part with it but I have a ton of purses that I made and I'm sure there's a kitty person out there who would love to have this!

More Crazy Quilt Lesson 1 Blocks
I have a few more blocks from my Color and Composition Lesson 1 to share with you today. This is Maria's block:
Maria did an excellent job with the forget me not flowers and encouraging the eye to move around the block using blue.
And this block was worked by Joyce:
Joyce gave her block a very strong feeling of Valentines Day. Again, an excellent use of the color blue. I love the beads around the stitched "forget me not" piece.
Thank you Ladies, for sharing your blocks with me and allowing me to share them here on my blog.
If ya'll stop by tomorrow, you'll get to see my latest purse!

Color and Compostion Classes Lesson 1 Stitched Pieces
I thought for today I would share a few photos of the stitched pieces from my Color and Composition Class. The theme for lesson 1 is Forget Me Not. The required colors are pink for the background and blue for the stitching. A stitched counted cross stitch piece that I designed was also a requirement for this block.
This is Jane's block:
Jane did a great job conveying the forget me not theme. Her inspiration was the little forget me not flowers as you can see. She did very well balancing the blue throughout the block and I love how she trimmed out her stitched piece.
This block is Kathleen's block:
Again Kathleen's inspiration was the little forget me not flowers that we see so often in Victorian graphics. Kathleen did great balancing the block with the blues and using a variety of stitches to create tiny flowers through out the block. And notice how Kathleen trimmed the stitched piece. A lovely herringbone stitch all the way around it! Beautiful!
And this block is from Cris:
Cris has been fighting an eye infection so she isn't as far on her block as she would like to be but I wanted to share it anyway. I love the fabrics Cris used and I love how she trimmed out her stitched piece. Cris has a lovely memory of her grandmother that she plans to express through her block. It's a "think pink" theme since her grandmother died of breast cancer.
Finally, and I've shared this before but here is my block:
For me, the phrase "forget me not" represents my 3 kitties at Rainbow Bridge. Francis, Garfield and Simba. If you look closely at the little basket at the top left-hand corner, there are 3 kitties in it.
Lesson 2 will be released on Monday, January 21, 2013.

Etsy Valentines
For today, I thought I'd share the rest the Etsy Valentines that mom and made:
Yes, mom and I have been quite busy on these since before Christmas. These are the last of our 2013 Valentines. I'm not sure what mom is going to do next but I started another purse. And I still have one to sew together.

Pink Crazy Quilt Purse
Finished this up this morning:
Ya'll know how much I love pink! This pink crazy quilt purse is loaded with vintage millinery flowers, lots of stitching, beads and sequins! I crocheted the edging and hand sewed that on. It's perfect for Valentine's Day don't you think?

I mentioned in my post yesterday that I had just finished up another purse. This crazy quilt purse is pink. Ya'll know I love pink!
I hope to sew this up over the weekend along with another one that I made back in October (I think). I'll post another photo when I have it all put together.
